"Construction and Industrial Rigging Course 7 Day Schedule"
The "Construction and Industrial Rigging" course has been designed to get right to the point of what a rigger needs to be able to perform, Hands On, on the job pertaining to just the knowledge of rigging on the ground as well as on the steel structure above. The course gives you an abundant amount of hours and days of hands on experiance like no other course or facility. Those with the passion to become more experianced riggers in the Construction and Industrial industry, this course is specific for you.
This course will lead you through what each rigger should be competently capable of performing on the job.
At the end of the 7 day course you should be able to remember how to perform adequitely without instructions or your book depending on each students learning ability.
The course is designed to give students a lot of hands on rigging experiance as possible after the basics and as quickly as possible within the alotted 7 day course.
More hands on practice days can be added for a student on a per day pricing based on prorating the 7 day course pricing per day.
At the end of the course each student will be issued a Certificate of completion of the subjects listed below, their name along with the dates attended and hours logged.
Certification can also be issued to those students that pass the hands on and written test at the end of the course.
Certification is based strongly upon their ability to perform perficiently whithout needing their book on the hands on part of the test. The hands on part of the test will be a closed book test while the written portion of the test is an open book test. Students that pass a module will be issued a number that will corrispond to a specific module subject. Example: 1 for Rigging Hardware, 2 for Fall Protection, 3 for Math, 4 for Ground Rigging, 5 for Knots. A perfect Certification would have listed on the photo ID
card: 12345. If the card is missing one of the numbers that means that they did not pass that module subject of testing.
The more hands on experiance you get here the more competent and proficient you should become, having rigging procedures become second nature to you.

Prerequisites for attending this class will be: A basic knowledge of simple math ( add, subtract, multiply, and divide ) with the use of a calculator.
Not being affraid of heights and having good balance if you wish to learn high steel rigging, ( not required if only interested in ground rigging ).
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. with ease. Must understand and speak English fluently. Not being sick with any type of flu or fever. No disability that would affect your
performance on the ground and on the steel structure above ground level.
The course is laid out as follows:
Monday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Overview of Rigging, what knowldge and hands on skills are needed: Class
2. 5 Aspects of Rigging: Class
3. Standards set forth by OSHA and ANSI: Class
4. Crosby Video: Class
2. Rigging Hardware: Class
Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Rigging Hardware: Hands On
2. Sling Construction: Hands On making a polyester round sling and 2 steel cable slings using crosby clips and nico press sleaves as well as making a flemish eye with a steel cable.
3. Sling Load and Break Test: Hands On
4. Slings and rigging hardware inspection: Hands On
Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Knots and Rope: Class
2. Knots: Hands On
3. Knots Load and Break Testing: Hands On
4. Mechanical Advantage of Block and Tackle: Class
5: Mechanical Advantage of Block and Tackle: Hands On
Thursday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Math - Bridles and Forces: Class
2. Load Distribution on Spreader Bars and Trusses: Class
2. Fall Protection: Class
3. Fall Protection: Hands On
Friday: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch (Class will end at 8:00 pm for the 7 day course)
1. Ground Rigging setup for different Hitches and Bridles: Hands On
2. Use of Load Cells and Lasers: Hands On
3. Use of Manual chain hoist, Ratchet chain & cable come along hoists.
4. Balancing Loads and setting up 2 legged bridles on a Spreader Bar: Hands On (use of normal slings and adjustable slings such as K-Links and Deck Chain)
5. Balancing Loads and setting up 3 & 4 legged bridles for a basket Container: Hands On (use of normal slings and adjustable slings such as K-Links and Deck Chain)
6. Bridling and suspending a Truss: Hands On (use of normal slings and adjustable slings such as K-Links and Deck Chain)
Saturday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Hands On Gound Rigging and use of electric chain hoists for lifting and suspending loads.
2. All day practicing balancing loads and bridle exercises.
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with 1 hour off for lunch
1. Hands On Gound Rigging and use of electric chain hoists for lifting and suspending loads
2. Review of any topic students wish to go over and practice: Hands On and Class.
3. Practicing balancing loads and bridle exercises using your Math and Ground Skills: Hands On
4. Hands On Test - Ground Rigging and Knots (Required for Certification) (Allowable time is 2 hours)
5. Online Multiple choice Test Questions: When you get back home. Should be done no later than the following week after your course ends.
Please Note that the start times and end times may change during the course week due to prior commitments or other obligations that the instructor may have.
So if a class day ends earlier than normal then the start time the following day may start earlier or may go longer to make shure you receive all the time needed
to complete the full course training. There is always extra time allotted during the week days as well as the weekend to make up any behind time that may happen.
